Hunter Oaks Water Jets- Pre-Season Info: Please Read!
Hello Hunter Oaks Water Jets-
It's March, and that means Swim Team is right around the corner!
This year, instead of our usual Zoom info session, we decided to share the slide show presentation and let you walk through it on your own time. Should you have any questions, you are more than welcome to reply to this email. All that we ask is that you PLEASE read all 13 slides before emailing us your questions ;-)
Please feel free to forward this email to any new neighbors / friends in the neighborhood that are interested in learning more about the swim team!
NEW THIS YEAR:
1. Registration will open first for returning families in good standing. What is "good standing"? Those are families who fulfilled their required volunteer positions last season, or found someone to volunteer in their absence. Look for registration emails at the end of next week.
2. Families will only be permitted to sign up for ONE volunteer slot at the mock meet. This is a popular meet to volunteer in because it tends to be shorter, but when all of our experienced families take all the slots, our final meets of the year end up a bit unbalanced. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
3. Look for raffle ticket sales during registration (located under "merchandise.") We are raffling off TWO premium parking spots for ALL of the home meets. Tickets are $5 each and you can buy as many as you'd like. All proceeds benefit the team. Two winners will be chosen for the entire season and will get to park in reserved spots closest to the BG Clubhouse for ALL HOME MEETS!
**WE ARE LOOKING FOR BUSINESS SPONSORS! Bring a NEW sponsor to our team and receive $25 off your registration fee! It's as simple as asking at any dentist, MD, store, etc. you go into! OR - do you want to promote your business by sponsoring? Email us for details. Sponsorships start at just $250.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Lastly, Molly and Lisa have been Co-Presidents of the Hunter Oaks swim team for nearly 5 seasons. And while they've enjoyed their time serving the neighborhood in this way, it's time for them to step down from their roles after this season. We are working as a board to make this a smooth transition - as running this swim team of 200 kids, has a lot of moving pieces. We plan to have a board seat called "Incoming President" - much like the PTO boards. That way - the new President would be on the board and have a good understanding of the procedures in place. This Incoming President would serve as the Volunteer Coordinator for one season before becoming President or Co-President. If this is something that interests you, please let us know. Our goal is to make this a rotating seat, not one that anyone would be in indefinitely! Thanks for your consideration and support. This season DOES NOT HAPPEN without our very dedicated volunteers.
Go Water Jets!
- Molly Gliemmo & Lisa Jordan ~ Water Jets Co-Presidents
