HOWJ - Baxter Info

Hello Water Jets Families – We have some important details and reminders for tomorrow’s swim meet against Baxter! We don't have the final heat sheets yet - but as soon as we do - we will send it.

Please remember: Only Water Jets suits and swim caps are allowed. All girls must be wearing swim caps. No swim shirts allowed in the pool.

Please try to arrive at Baxter by 5pm if you can. Parking is a little difficult there – not to mention traffic that time of day. This will allow for some extra time because warm ups will being promptly at 5:30pm. The meet will start at 6pm.

After each race – ask your swimmers to connect with a coach for feedback. They want to share feedback immediately.

Meet Instructions for the Visiting Team

Baxter Village Community Center Pool 3187 Colonel Springs Way, Fort Mill, SC 29708

Directions:From Interstate 77, take exit 85. Head north on Highway 160. Turn left onto Sutton Road. Turn right onto Founders Street. Make a right at the stop sign and a
quick left onto Settlers Height Drive.

Parking: There is no access to the pool parking lot during meets. Street parking is available nearby the Community Center in any designated parking spots. Parking in front of the Community Center is prohibited, but swimmer drop off here is allowed.
Please do not block private driveways. A walkway to the left of the Community
Center will lead swimmers to the lower parking lot for set up.

Swimmer Staging and Seating area: Our swimmers will be ON DECK! For those who
were at this meet two years ago – this is an important note. We will have our
own clerk of course behind the blocks. There is limited shade on deck and they
allow us to bring tailgate tents if we’d like. Please see attached map – Option 1A is what we will be doing so that the children will not need to be down in the parking lot.

Baxter has approximately 200 swimmers. There are 7 lanes so we will need to provide 7 timers. Baxter uses dive over starts for age groups 11-12 and up. Swimmers should
stay in the water at the end of their heats. One end of our pool does not meet
the new requirements for dives so in-water starts will be used in some relays.

Spectator Seating: Parents may sit next to the pool's edge on either side, but must
keep the walkway clear under the arbor area. Please use the sidewalk closest to
the building for access to the parking lot area. There are minimal seats on the
pool deck during meets and reasonable sized collapsible chairs are preferred.

Restrooms: There are facilities in the outbuilding (pool house) at the end
of the pool and at the base of the community center.

Food Trucks will be there- Cash and Credit card accepted!
